Wednesday

Some work rota alterations left me in a midweek limbo. No time for the swim, but enough time to leg it around the Estuary.

*just*

I was on a tight ship for my Estuary Wilds Waddle.

Forty five minutes is the target time. I have been known to take 50. I had exactly 45 minutes ahead of the work login.

These types of deadlines tend to focus the body, if not the mind.

The run was characterised by spider webs at every turning. A sweaty face caught up in spider silk is an uncomfortable feeling.

I made it back for the work shift with seconds to spare.

And relax.

#LateJunction was a little confusing. It was a bleepy bleepy electronic special. I was unsure if the bleepy bleeps were from Late Junction or the spin cycle on my washing machine.

I switched to the more relaxed Gilles Peterson instead.

The work was steady. I had a mid-morning break and made a dash for the garden. The pointless task of sweeping up leaves around this time of year was a half hour wasted. I’ll be doing it all over again this weekend.

I did manage to squeeze in a cheeky final mowing of the lawn for the season. I thought that this task had been completed three weeks ago.

The recent dry run of weather has allowed me a little extra lawn love.

I bashed out a couple of Buzz stories.

Book-ish gyms refuse to f-off.

The Corbyn speech was a direct attack on the Lambeth and Southwark model of social cleansing.

Oh dear, Comrades.

The afternoon shifts were spent in the company of cricket. I listened to the final session of play up at Old Trafford with Surrey, whilst keeping one eye on the screen for the England ODI back at The Oval.

This is my FAVE time in the domestic season. The title may be decided, but elsewhere and the positions are tight. The unpredictable weather makes it all the more exciting.

Work came to a close and there was still some daylight left. I took a pacy stroll down to the Quay and snapped away under rather hazy conditions.

And then… BOOZE.

Yeah.

Chin chin.
