A light leg stretcher of a run to start the new week. This was a Park Run distance run at a distinctly non-Park Run pace.
The plodding continued in the morning with a mass Twitter cull.
There. That feels better.
Apologies if you have been lost - you probably don’t give a stuff anyway.
It’s a nasty, nasty toxic platform of late. Given that I spend most of my working time dealing with the fall out, the last thing I want is to continue this in my free time.
I had some South Lambeth Road business to sort out with the annual company insurance renewal.
Telephone banking with our funky new business bank is a little bleak.
The rest of the day had been deliberately blocked off for a Fair City exploration.
I started off Trentside and ended up at the top of Mansfield Road.
Quite a walk.
I was tempted to for an official tour of the ground. But time was tight.
I crossed the river, and then had a few Meadow Lane memories.
It’s a little complicated; I can’t really explain it myself.
A decent rummage took place down the road at the Anchor Army Surplus. One day I will buy the full on radiation suit that is for sale.
I made my way to Broad Marsh. The shopping centre is in a state of flux. It was a little grim tbh.
I took a random trip down the Broad Marsh caves. I can’t remember if I last went down there as a Primary school pupil, or perhaps only ten years ago?
The audio commentary on the headset raised a smile. It was like Medieval Sleaford f-ing Mods.
I couldn’t be arsed with Victoria Centre.
I made the walk up Mansfield Road instead. This was out of curiosity to see if any of the old shops from back in the day remained.
No surprises that Bill the Barber wasn’t around.
But BLIMEY: Dave Mann music was still going strong, the shop where I bought my first guitar and amp.
I arrived back at the family home early evening.
And then it was all about the Brian Clough Trophy.
Forest away at D***y could have been a classic, but it ended up as a ceasefire.
Football. Bloody hell, etc.
