Sunday

Up early on Sunday morning to beat the snow.

My legs still had a little running left in them. The weather outside was trying its best to bash this out of me.

The village lanes were empty at 7:15am with no sunlight and a steady stream of snow starting to fall.

No shit.

This wasn’t a time for heroes; it wasn’t a time for a repeat of the 16km from Saturday.

And so a 5km trot around the village instead.

I was back in time for the 8am work shift.

The remainder of Sunday was spent indoors rotating between work, Buzz action and being on constant train watch ahead of the long, long journey back to the Estuary Wilds later in the evening.

We watched both football derbies.

Football. Bloody hell, etc.

And then the long, long journey back to the bloody Estuary Wilds.

Almost six hours later and I was back with Anna, Daisy and Dotty.

A Christmas tree was standing.

That won’t last long.
