Turn up troubles to start Thursday.
It was time to wear my 1950s heavy denim jeans for the first time of the season.
These were imported all the way from Freddie’s of Pinewood.
…based in Walton on the Naze.
Lovely, lovely folk mind.
I washed the jeans last spring, and then stored them away for another season.
As ever, time was tight trying to make the train.
The jeans still fitted the waist one year on - which is always a decent start.
I had forgotten though how many turn ups need to be added so that they hang just right.
It wasn’t until I was halfway out of the Estuary Wilds that I realised that I was one turn up down.
SWEATING the small stuff, as Daniel Cruz Tizon would say.
I had subbing on the go to carry out on the train.
Just publish - worry about the consequences later.
OK…
The ride from LS back down to SW9 on the recently serviced Brompton was a bit of a bummer. I’ve no idea why, but Mr Brompton bicycle man LUBED up my seat pole.
The rotter!
It meant that I was riding a bicycle best suited for child by the time I reached The Elephant.
I was playing catch up for the entire school day in SW9. Sadly time and tide meant that I missed out on the grand new building opening that took place yesterday.
The was still a buzz around the place from staff and students, all proud of what they have achieved.
I celebrated in my own way by partnering Boy Y in a game of table football.
I scored an own goal with my back flipping ‘keeper.
Boy Y ignored me for the rest of the day.
STAR.
I made the transition from SW9 back to SW8 under darkness. I had left my rear Brompton light back in the bloody Estuary Wilds.
Bugger.
I arrived back at the flat with much Moulton love.
Anna had very kindly picked up my latest Moulton from somewhere over in W Ldn on Wednesday. It was waiting for me in the flat.
It looks like a Deluxe Series II with a few modifications: drop handlebars, classic road bike shifters and some new-ish front and rear bags.
It needs some love.
It needs Bob - he of Bob’s Bikes.
A brief Lidl run followed. Some Christmas food was bought.
Oh dear.
I had what should have been a quiet work shift scheduled.
It was manic.
I then made a start on editing and publishing the SW9 content.
It’s all about Pearl Mackie, innit.
Lovely, lovely school.
Some brief FaceTime with Anna ended Thursday.
I activated Alexa in bloody Essex via Stockwell. I confused the cats with the meow meow command.
I’m back in SE17 in the morning.
Goodo.
