I made a start on The Evolution of John Peel broadcasts early on Saturday morning. They were the perfect munching material for the Bran Flakes.
Evolution of Peel worth a listen @richardgallon https://t.co/NfBZxzTEXJ

I’ve finally finished the Peel biog back in the flat. It has been my on / off S Ldn reading material for… oh, I’m a little ashamed to admit.
I will admit however to the bloody John Major autobiography being by my bedside table for over a year.
And I skipped the boring parts.
Which was most of the book…
I cycled off, late as ever, towards Castle Park for Colchester Park Run.
It was a large turn out with little room to manoeuvre at the start of the race. I positioned myself towards the front.
The race plan was to leg it for the first 500m in some free space, and then feel no shame when the rest of the runners overtook me.
But I kept on legging it.
I felt rather strong.
My Strava watch indicated a half decent time. The official race time in the email later in the morning had me on 21’37” - nine seconds off a PB.
Nine seconds of a park run PB. Arse.

I was second in my vets age cat.
The old fella ahead of me is actually of a pensionable age.
Castle Park was rather beautiful in the early autumn glory. Leaves were lining the pathways; the early morning dew still lingered around 10am.
I had a brief charity shop raid around the streets of Sunny Colch. I’m still in search of a smock.
Oh dear.
I didn’t find one, but instead a kilt that would look the part on Lido Jonathan back in the beauty of Brockwell.
Metro Bank was next up on the To Do list. We’re finally, finally getting there with a business account for South Lambeth Road.
Having all four Directors together is proving impossible. Metro Bank have been very accommodating.
Metro Bank *isn’t* work Big Client #1 btw…
I cycled on to the gym for some light weights. Some fella was taking on a little light refreshment in-between sets with a bottle of beer.
Blimey.
Chin chin, fella.
Bloke with bottle of beer in the gym. Blimey #chinchin

I had the pool to myself for 40 GLORIOUS lengths, before arseing about in the steam room.
The appearance of a discarded plaster in the haze of steam was my signal to disappear.
I stopped off at B&Q on the bicycle journey back.
LET’S DO THIS, etc.
Nothing too demanding - a F-OFF watering can, and an end of season sale sun bed.
I left with a F-OFF watering can only. The bright pink end of season sale sun bed was even too poncey for my own personal vanities.
I did deflate the inflatable sun bed back at base. It felt symbolic that my season of tanning has finally come to a close.
Shortly before 3pm out went the shout of:
“To the GIMP Stadium!”
Hurrah!
Wivenhoe Town were at home to Ely City.
I had no idea that Ely was a city.
I set off on my usual photo walk around the ground. The f717 b0rked within the first few shots.
ARSE.
I now have my Plan B of using the iPhone as the camera mule. The results were a little disappointing tbh.
It finished 1-1 in what was a half decent match.
Back I base I managed to isolate the f717 issue - a faulty memory stick. I snaffled up a cheapo replacement online.
Some very welcome and unexpected dialogue with a local Town Cllr then followed. He is keen to improve cycling around the town.
We floated some ideas back and forth.
Actually rather fearful for J-Roy ahead of the ODI series #3feathers

And then it was all about the England Vs Windies t20.
And BOOZE.
Chin chin.
