A day starting with worry over Dotty, and ending with us falling out with the naughty feline.
Dotty was a dirty stop out overnight. She returned looking guilty after 7am on Saturday morning.
Her walk of shame is something that we’ve all been through…
Anna and I cycled along the Trail heading towards Sunny Colch and the Colchester Park Run.
It was ideal running conditions.
The pre-run prep of five pints of golden ale on Friday night was less than ideal.
I started near the front and finished in a so so 27th place. I was second in my vets category with an official race time of 21’48”.
We cycled on to the gym to put some lengths in. I swam one length behind Anna. She admitted that she was struggling to keep the pace. This is a rarity.
I had a croissant disaster back at base. I attempted to bake three frozen croissants. The end result was one merged mess of dough.
TUCK IN, etc.
And then we headed out to the Regatta down at the Quayside.
OK…
It got off to an amusing start when an ex-Town Mayor literally crossed the road to try and avoid us.
Cheers, Madam.
The Regatta was a fun, if a little… small town claustrophobic.
We took retreat in the chip shop, and then headed out on to the pier.
It was a bloody high tide around luncheon. The raft race was the usual chaos. I’m not a boat sort of bloke.
We cut loose after an hour or so. A siesta took place. Anna stayed indoors; I collapsed in the garden with the new Weller album once again.
I edited the Regatta pics. There’s a half decent selection in there.

And then some gardening.
The wisteria is WILD.
I trimmed it only three days ago. Fresh shoot of a couple of feet long have since started to poke out.
I’ve turned into a Lawn Snob btw.
The tranquility was disturbed by Madam Dotty.
She came crashing over the garden wall with a blackbird in her mouth.
NAUGHT DOTTY.
She disappeared underneath the shed, dragging Daisy into the carnage as well.
Oh dear.
Dotty appeared about an hour later with blood on her paws and a dead baby blackbird 🙁
I was in no mood for Booze.
We flicked between the Glasto channels. I finally finished editing and publishing the SE17 school content from Thursday.
Knackered.
