Thursday

Another hit and run S Ldn school day.

The South Lambeth Road renovation is taking forever - four years to be precise…

Whoops.

The completion is within sight.

Or so I have been told.

My continuing OCD meltdown means that I can’t go anywhere near the flat whilst the builders are in.

What do you mean you have moved my toothbrush from where it belongs?

BASTARDS.

And so a hit and run trip from the Estuary Wilds back to S Ldn for a full on SE17 school day.

Oh dear

I wasn’t really looking forward to today to be honest. I just can’t handle the heat.

S Ldn summers are the BEST - but not if you are working.

It wasn’t that bad.

An air conditioned Greater Anglia train with no delays was a welcome rarity.

I took a leisurely ride over London Bridge on a squeaking Brompton. This has been bugging me for the past couple of weeks.

My mechanical knowledge of JUST OIL IT didn’t seem to work. I dropped the Brompton off with Bob - he of Bob’s Bikes - and then prepared myself for the school slog.

I had broken the primary school rule in wearing shorts.

Apologies, friends and lovers.

Oh the irony of being made to wear shorts some forty summers ago, but then being back in the classroom and encouraged to cover up my flesh.

The school day was actually half-decent. I had resolved not to run around and overheat. This didn’t get off to a good start when I gatecrashed some Y4 Sports Day preparations.

Just Do It, etc.

Billie Jean with the ukulele orchestra was great fun. Boy Y asked if I was dancing. I made my excuses and left.

An email dropped from Anna.

Apparently I had to email Lambeth Council and confirm that she is my wife, and also that I give her consent to buy yet more parking permits for the flat.

Lambeth Council bureaucracy moves in very strange ways, Comrades.

And so I survived the S Ldn school day - which is just as well, seeing as though I’ve got to do it all over again tomorrow morning in SW9.

I picked up the now non-squeaking Brompton.

Bob - he of Bob’s Bikes - is a good ‘un.

Still it grows #forlondon

I headed back over London Bridge and back to *over there*.

Oh dear.

Daisy and Dotty hadn’t moved from twelve hours earlier.

Anna was right behind me, also returning from S Ldn.

We just about recognised one another.

TOTP from 1984 on BBC4 was a mixed bag. It was the first appearances of Madonna and Cyndi Lauper. Whitesnake were ropey.

To Bed! Early!

Let’s do it all over again tomorrow.

Fun this, innit.
