AWOL cat concerns early on Sunday morning.
We failed to get Dotty in late on Saturday night. We went to bed with the cat flap still open.
Dotty didn’t return as Saturday night became Sunday morning morning.
Dotty is a worry.
I turned on the radio for my 6am brew.
My cat worries are very real for me, but they need to be understood in perspective.
Dotty then did return.
All was not well in the world 🙁
I had a long day in the saddle planned. It was the best way that I could think of understanding and reflecting what had happened back in London.
The CTC Club Run was a lovely Essex day out.
We headed out towards Coggeshall, and then back over East and a Mersea Island hop for luncheon.
I stressed a little about the air in my rear tyre. I was convinced that I had a slow puncture.
Some things aren’t worth stressing over, Jase.
Morning coffee at Cressing Temple was stunning. I made a mental note to return and explore the structures in more detail.
Some freshly laid smooth tarmac carried us towards Abberton reservoir. Soon we were on the traditional route for the Wifey Weekend Roll Out.
Mersea Island always fascinates me.
Our ride leader had forgotten to check the tidal times. There was a little concern as we approached the Strood that we might be stranded.
It was low water, natch.
Luncheon was taken outdoors in the Essex sun.
Cycling, sun and SMILING.
And reflecting.
I ducked out as the Club Run reached Fingringhoe and took a different route back into town.
I arrived back at base with 98.9km clocked up.
Close, but no cigar, etc.
But a lovely, lovely day.
And then more reflection.
Madam Dotty is grounded, btw.
