A thunderous night.
And the weather was a little ropey as well.
Boom Boom.
It all meant that there seemed little point lying restless beyond 5:30am.
And so five mugs of builders’ tea before 7:30am.
Daisy delivered her latest hunt as she crashed through the cat flap: a fly.
Well done, luv.
She managed to capture the fly in her mouth. The flaw in her masterful show and tell was releasing the fly for me to inspect.
See ya!
A similar scene with a less amusing outcome would be played out later in the day…
We took one look at the weather forecast and took a strategic decision to do a reverse ferret on the cricket in Chelmsford.
And so a morning bicycle ride instead.
It’s been AGES since I did a bit of route planning with the Garmin. Recent rides have involved tagging along as part of the CTC Club Run.
We decided to head out West, rather than the usual East towards Tendring. I lifted a gpx file from some cycling sharing site.
My joints felt a little raw. I missed out on the silly arthritic stretching routine on Sunday. One day away and the bones feel bobbins.
It was a decent ride out towards Bures [is this right?] and beyond.
The only bummer was that the back lanes were heavy with the ECC bodge job of gravel dressing.
Some light hands and technical riding followed.
Anna came close to puncturing. She noticed a a light clicking noise on the front wheel of her roadie. I managed to remove a shard of glass before it had time to do the damage.
This was a very nervous ride…
We returned back to base with 75km clocked up before luncheon.
Chapeau!
An afternoon of anarchic gardening was on the agenda.
But then I saw Dotty.
Oh dear.
She appeared to have been stung by a bee. Her face had ballooned.
Poor Madam Dotty.
She’s a worry.
We’ve been here before with the mad cat. A trip to the emergency vets on the other side of town seemed a little extreme.
I spent the next couple of hours monitoring her and trying to nurse back to some sense of her normality.
Cats luv wet flannels wrapped around them - who knew?
I *think* that she has recovered.
I would say that she won’t do it again.
But of course she bloody will.
Poor Madam Dotty.
My cat concerns cleared up when the Championship Play Off Final kicked off.
The garden can wait, Comrades.
We caught up with the ODI highlights on C5.
Oh dear.
And then the C4 Leader’s Q&A’s.
Oh dear, oh dear.
Knackered.
