Tuesday

A long read from @DaveHill over the Bran Flakes first thing on Tuesday morning.

oh.

I nodded my head in certain parts, and SHOUTED at the Mac screen in other sections.

What a bloody mess, Comrades.

A decent piece of writing, though.

I had a 7am work shift.

Tuesday should then have been all about a working day in Walton with the lovely Warm and Toasty Club.

But Madam Dotty was not well 🙁

The patient. Now recovering 🙁

She wasn’t moving much last night.

oh ‘eck - we’ve been here before with the Mad Cat.

I soon realised that she had an extreme limp. I couldn’t see much external damage.

I didn’t sleep much last night, forever checking up on her.

The limp appeared less painful early on Tuesday morning. But I didn’t want to take any chances.

I managed to grab the one remaining vet appointment for the day. Sadly I had to bow out of the Walton-on-the-Naze working jolly.

The vets are LOVELY, but I hate going there. I have too many memories and too many trips with the Mad Cat last summer.

The vet soon identified that Dotty had been in a Cat War.

Dotty lost.

The damage was a bight out of her right rear leg. Painkillers were injected, as well as the indignity of the thermometer up the arse.

I did the usual mad random talking to her as I walked back through the village with the cat carrier.

It does make her feel better, right?

She slept most of the afternoon, along with Daisy.

The downside is that Dotty is now grounded for a week; this means that so is Daisy.

Oh dear.

I’ve also got a week long schedule of medication to give.

Given that she has just jumped onto to my lap, and then jumped off again - I’d say that she is on the mend.

I tried to claim the £80 vet fee with the insurance.

There’s an £80 excess.

Hey hoe.

I spent the rest of the afternoon photo unarchiving and listening to the Surrey commentary.

Anna was actually at The Oval. She updated me over the cricket, whilst I was on In Cat News duty.

The agenda changed later in the evening to the start of the new bathroom installation back at South Lambeth Road.

It is scheduled to take three weeks.

Much like Dotty being grounded, I am now grounded away from Sunny Stockwell. My OCD couldn’t handle the bathroom chaos right now.

I spent the remainder of Tuesday evening trying not to get lockjaw with some of the election stories.

I caught a little of the Real Madrid match, in-between trying to stop Dotty from doing more damage by going stir crazy indoors.

Oh dear.
