Tuesday

A day of earning and listening.

I was housebound for most of the day, with a hefty run of work shifts.

I also had a pile of podcasts / CHOONS to catch up with.

Yer man @RobertElms played Ian Shaw’s Drive In Saturday cover.

I can’t find it anywhere online, but it is a rarity in actually adding something fresh to a Bowie cover.

Apparently he plays it out live a lot on the Ldn jazz circuit. I really must treat myself.

Not exactly live was the dead bird that Dotty brought in through the cat flap mid-morning.

NAUGHTY Dotty.

I’m no birder, but it was a bloody big thing.

It was impossible to tell if NAUGHTY Dotty was a killer, or a simply the carrier.

I put on the industrial strength cleaning gloves, dumped the bird in a plastic bag and did a half decent hoover session.

I fear that we are in for a spring and summer of hunting expeditions from the kittens.

Daisy was a bit of a dear for most of the day. She took up the exact same spot as the mad cat, sitting on the wormery and sunbathing.

I had something in my eye, honest.

I do miss the mad cat terribly 🙁

Meanwhile, Caught by the River most certainly resonated:

“I’ve made my decision, I’ve chosen my place. It’s the fog for me, the mist, the hidden hills and fields, the small dark birds, the fox and rabbit tracks, the mud filled lane, the quiet, the heavy hedgerows, the bare trees.”

But not dead birds, ta very much.

Worked pressed on.

One client had a very, very bad day in the office.

Oh dear.

Arron Bastani put a smile on my face:

“A plum job for a guy who is a complete plum.”

Tell It Like It Is, etc.

I finally caught up with the Peter Watts Londonist Out Loud piece on Battersea.

The view of the grand old building is still visible from our Sunny Stockwell bedroom window - one chimney, natch.

I wonder how long this view will remain?

And then some Graun Y2K pod action to complete my day of catching up.

It was a little dry, tbh.

I signed out of the work tools, and then settled down for the evening screening:

What Happened Miss Simone?

WHAT a lady.
