Thursday

Alarm clock failure for first thing on Thursday morning.

Whoops.

Hurrah for the kitten call in my face at 6am.

I made the train in good time.

It was a morning for cravats.

CRAVAT UP you ponce. In a school btw

CRAVAT UP, you ponce, etc.

A smooth journey in followed. I’m making slow progress on the Rip It Up book. Each chapter then distracts me as I try and research the major gaps in my musical timeline.

Sadly there was no bicycle ride down to South London. The Brompton is already in place back at South Lambeth Road.

And so the tube instead.

Oh.

Cheese Man was stinking out the whole carriage from LS down to the Elephant.

The dirty, dirty dog.

…said the man who didn’t bathe for two days until Mr Boiler Man was able to sort me out.

A very SUNNY #Stockwell #SW9

And then a full on school day in the lovely SW9. I walked straight into a Year 9 guitar session, and then some hardcore Year 10 science.

LOVE that school.

The new playground has been opened since I was last in SW9. It’s the final piece in the jigsaw of the brand new school.

It’s a bloody amazing achievement tbh.

Boy Y asked me:

“Sir, are we in Brixton or Stockwell?”

Good question, well put.

I was tempted to tell him that we are all Transpontine.

I looked out of a classroom window late in the day, just as the South London sun was starting to set.

I saw a new tower block peak through out of the shadows.

I haven’t seen this before.

I was last in South London less than a fortnight ago.

This is the current pace of change in Sunny Stockwell.

Or is it Brixton?

Best not to ask Boy Y, Jase.

I had a School Management photo shoot late in the day.

I actually said:

“Our best years are behind us all.”

It kinda came out wrong, Comrades.

Apologies.

I made the short walk back to the Sunny Stockwell flat. It was the first time that I have seen the freshly painted shared hallway.

It looks bloody decent.

LOVE the smell of fresh paint.

Thursday evening was spent working on school content. Boy Y didn’t feature 🙁

I’ve got a return to Lake Brockwell first thing on Friday morning.

At least that is the plan.

The Brockwell blue water temperature was 3.7 degrees today.

Oh dear.

But you reach the stage where 10 degrees is cold, 5 degrees is cold, 3 degrees is…

Oh, f-it.

Come on in. The water’s LOVELY 🙂
