The Durutti Column’s Sketch for Summer was a charming - if somewhat unseasonal - start to Wednesday with the ever wonderful Late Junction.
I finished the early morning shift, and then headed out into the garden in search of spring.
Close, but no cigar, Jase.
It wasn’t a morning for shorts out along the Trail. That didn’t stop a couple of fellow cyclists… wearing shorts.
It was a bit silly tbh.
Forty routine lengths in the pool, a bit of spa arseing about, and then a ride back to base.
Back in the garden: FORK IT.
And so it begins.
The next three months will be spent with me obsessively FORKING what remains of the lawn.
I will fail in my efforts to grow a lush, green grass lawn.
A trip to B&Q mid-April will mean job’s a good ‘un.
Still.
I do rather enjoy a good FORK IT.
I edited and published the school content from SE21 for the remainder of the morning.
The kittens were knackered and slept beside me.
News is reaching us via various neighbours that the kittens are extending their territorial reach.
Apologies for any stay shits, folks.
The afternoon shifts were worked in the splendid company of the Worldwide Winners. It led me to a download frenzy for some of the tunes that I missed out on in the past 12 months.
Lee Fields’ Never Be Another was just beautiful.
The evening work shifts were a disaster. I had to upgrade the work browser ahead of the work.
I was organised, and attempted this a good hour before the first shift. Ninety minutes later and even the tech brains in the company was finding it a little tough.
We just about got there.
I downed tools and caught the final evening session game in the darts.
Exhausting.
Exhausted.
