Wednesday

The 7am work shift and seeing Anna off to South London.

I’ll be joining her tomorrow 🙂

The work was a little manic. Never underestimate the viral nature of the most uncontroversial tweet from a client.

Neil arrived a little later to finish off the household handy work.

I had one job to do mid-morning: buy some cupboard door magnets from B&Q.

I failed ðŸ™

My not very handyman skills didn’t let me down in locating the item; it all fell apart though when I realised I didn’t have any cash with me.

B&Q doesn’t accept Apple Pay.

I cycled on to the pool, hopeful of finding a friendly face that I could tap up for £6.

The aqua aerobic ladies were treading water in the pool. I was a little afraid to ask, to be honest.

My heart wasn’t really in the swim. I’m feeling a little anxious ahead of a return to the outdoor waters of Lake Brockwell later in the week.

Of more pressing concern was the floating plaster back in bloody Essex. This was my signal to stop swimming.

I had a little time to spare, and so dared to brave the UKIP spa.

One of the ‘good owd Essex boys’ [debatable] pointed out that one of the younger, more athletic aqua aerobic ladies was able to rise slightly higher in the water than the other participants.

“She’s got long legs. I bet she’s a bloody foreigner.”

wtf is wrong with this place?

I cycled back to base and broke the news to Neil about my magnet failure.

I left him to complete his fine work, whilst I had an afternoon and early evening run of work shifts.

I listened to Spandau’s Journeys to Glory, having watched the Soul Boys film last.

I’m pleased that I didn’t spend my pocket money on it back in the day.

I had a few errands to run around the village. I was putting this off until late in the day, but a break in the working window coincided with the estuary wilds sun setting through the office window.

I legged it down to the Quay en route for the errands with my iPhone in hand, ready to snap away.

WOH.

Now that’s what I call a bloody high tide.

HIGH TIDE!

A little more work, and then I arsed around for half an hour or so with the modern interweb.

Chromecast has opened up a new world of films for us. It has also started to experience some pretty major buffering issues over the past few days.

Online advice is as ever, mixed.

If in doubt, restart the router, Jase.

It seemed to work.

I had something of a dreamy Wednesday evening, watching Nick Cave’s 20,000 Days on Earth.

I calculated that I am coming up close behind on 17,155.

That is some deep, scary shit.

I told the kittens about this. They rolled over and fell back asleep once again next to the radiator.

I do miss Murphie.

Transpontine bound in the morning 🙂
