The 8am Sunday morning work shift, and then a cycle along the Trail to see Mr Cormorant.
He was looking MAGNIFICENT.
I attempted conversation, but Mr C was occupied with his weird wing stretching thing.
And then from around the blind spot of a corner, a good old Essex bird emerged.
This one wasn’t of a feathered variety. The conversation made a little more sense.
Just.
Mr Cormorant conquered, next up was catch up time in the pool.
I had the medium lane to myself.
A couple were putting in the lengths together in the fast lane, pacing each other and swimming in parallel.
It looked most odd.
And then I realised that this is exactly what Anna and I do most Saturday mornings.
I didn’t hang around for the spa. More pressing matters were scheduled back at base with Forest away to D***y at the Sheep Dip.
I have been creaming it over this fixture for the past few weeks. The midday BOOZE was just reaching room temperature when the Sheep absolutely demolished Forest.
Ouch.
It was a very sobering afternoon.
I sulked by carrying out a very depressing Sunday afternoon window clean.
A brief back garden tidy up then followed, leaving just enough time to leg it down to the Quay to catch the estuary wilds sunset.
I’ve concluded that my iPhone is actually more powerful than my camera. I find myself shooting by default on the iPhone now.
The sunset was blistering - an absolute BEAUT.
The kittens decided to join me in the garden when I returned to a dusk gloom of a back garden. I wanted them back indoors, and so reverted to the tried and test tactic of lobbing the tin foil ball back in the kitchen.
Dotty darted in, picked up the ball in her mouth, and then ran outside with it.
Cheers, luv.
Foiled, so to speak.
I started to watch the Liverpool Vs West Ham match, but found more interest in the final day of the Amsterdam Six.
Chapeau!
Anna returned from golf, full of talk about her next silly snowboarding break in the New Year.
I’ve never been tempted; too expensive, too dangerous.
Calgary however looks like the location for 2017. We looked at the NHL hockey schedule. The Flames homes fixtures are perfectly aligned for the planned snowboarding period.
Pondering.
Sunday evening was spent back on work shifts.
