Wednesday

The kittens remain as lively as ever, post-op.

Early Wednesday morning was spent trying to leave the house on time, with a couple of play fighting kittens trying their best to rip out the stitches from one another.

Cheers, ladies.

I managed to make it to the gym for a GRUNT of a session. If you can’t hear yourself through the noise of your headphones, then no one else can, right?

I’m actually enjoying Gym Jase more so than the swim right now. Indoor swimming was becoming a chore.

The treadmill and GRUNTING sessions are made all the more sweeter for having some podcast catch up time with Downtown Soulville.

There was a WEIRD sky to river thing going off as I cycled back along the Trail. It looks far more dramatic in photo form than it actually was.

I stopped off at the University to sort out Anna’s Christmas present. She won’t be reading this, and so job’s a good ‘un.

It always feels strange being back on campus. Twenty-six years ago and that was me - fresh faced on a Wednesday morning, all ready for the free study / BOOZE time in the afternoon.

Fresh faced? Study? BOOZE?

Two outta three ‘aint bad.

And bloody TWENTY-SIX years ago?

Woh.

Not a lot appears to have changed. I can still find my way around. It’s just that I don’t want to, really.

We rarely end up on campus - once, twice a year.

Each time it becomes more difficult to move amongst the young folk and not stand out. I did the business with the present, and then slipped back into my much more comfortable middle-age mode.

I settled down back at base for the work shifts ahead. It’s been pretty lightweight so far this week. Some new projects are in the pipeline for next month.

After 13 years I was finally given an SE17 school email address this morning. The protocol for school addy’s is just WEIRD.

It now means that I can sit over 70 miles away and never a miss a diary entry for when there is a school drumming workshop taking place.

I had some success on another tech front.

The Wiv Forum Facebook account has been bugging me. I’ve set up a simple ifttt feed that imports content over to the Forum Facebook page.

The only problem is that a second conversation then takes place in the Facebook comments. Users mistakingly think that they are replying to the original posts.

Facebook is a bit of a pig when it comes to community management. Why can’t you just disable the comments for a Page?

My solution has been to add a disclaimer in an ifttt field that is then dumped on the end of the string text from the original post.

PLEASE DO NOT REPLY HERE, blah blah blah bollocks.

So far today and no one has.

I escaped to the garden late afternoon. It has been left untouched for the past couple of weeks now. A combination of the South London lifestyle and bloody awful North East Essex weather has led to the neglect.

The Great Wisteria Leaf Sweep is almost complete. It should take just one more windy session to shake them all to the ground.

The rest of the garden looks dead. It is most depressing.

But then just when I thought that Mother Nature is something of a cruel mistress during the darkest months of the year, some green shoots of life appeared in one corner of the garden.

As ever, I’ve no idea what it is. I did dead-head it back in September.

This growth spurt can’t be spring, already?

We had an all company webinar late afternoon.

BIG changes for 2017…

A quote then arrived for a new sash window back in Sunny Stockwell.

Blimey. I hope it is being hand crafted for that amount.

Wednesday evening was spent once more trying to get my head around the South Lambeth Road accounts, plus half an eye on the Man City match.
