Thursday

A train journey with Mr Mayor on Thursday morning. He wasn’t wearing the chains, but an Essex County Council work tag instead.

I know which one is more impressive.

Mr Mayor departed at Chelmsford, and then the journey went very wrong. The Gods of Greater Anglia apparently recognise civic deference.

The train terminated at Shenfield, and then we were all crammed into carriages for a train that stopped at every single station leading into Liverpool Street.

Some bugger stepped on my suede shoes in all of the confusion.

The cycle ride on the Brompton down to Sunny Stockwell was an absolute breeze in comparison.

And so time was tight on a busy school day. It got off to a decent start with a Year 11 woodlice experiment.

As ever: how was your working day today? 😉

No woodlice were injured in this experiment; we counted them all in, and we counted them all out.

And so farewell the old school #Stockwell #SW9

Anna was down the road in the Sunny Stockwell flat. I pondered a rare South London luncheon with her.

I played Connect 4 with Boy instead.

Come the close of the working day and I cycled through Brixton and on to the lido for a late afternoon dip.

The water temperature has dipped below 15 degrees since my last Lake Brockwell swim - the tipping point for the wetsuit.

But I only had a pair of trunks and a couple of hats.

It was LOVELY of course.

I renewed my membership for the following twelve months.

Back in the Sunny Stockwell flat and Anna had been busy on the DIY front. Three years back in South London, and we still haven’t completed what we had planned.

Whoops.

Life…

I did a brief Lidl run, and then spent the evening editing school content.

Back at Lake Brockwell in the morning 🙂
