Sunday

7am work for Sunday morning.

It was quiet.

You don’t say.

A choppy morning along the Trail

We had a blustery bicycle ride along the Trail en route for a swim. The first students were starting to arrive at the Quays accommodation for Fresher’s Week.

Meanwhile on the other side of the muddy banks of the Colne and the old-timers in one of the house boats was wrapping up after an all night party at around 11am.

Fine work, Sir.

It would be *really* interesting to see if both sides living across the river can come together for such occasions.

The swim was meh.

I was shunted to the general swim area, with a couple of slowies having a mild stretch in the fast lane.

I was left with three walkers plodding up and down the lanes.

Fighting five minutes earlier. Cats. lol

In Kitten News: they killed one of Anna’s prize pepper plants.

The rotters.

It received a double entry attack just after luncheon. They launched the assault from all sides, downing the prize pepper, just as the fruit was starting to ripen.

Oh dear.

We disappeared for an afternoon bicycle ride out to Wrabness. Foolishly I mounted the MTB. My arms and legs are still aching.

We arrived at high tide.

Whoops.

Wrabness, innit

Plans for a walk along the beach were abandoned. We sat down by a bench with views over the Stour looking out towards A House for Essex.

Anna had a half-hearted attempt at harvesting some sloes ahead of the winter gin action.

With more afternoon work shifts counting down, we didn’t fancy hanging around for too long. The 30km return ride on the MTB’s was a bloody effort.

Work, kitten play, bed.

Knackered.
