Friday was all about getting WET.
Wet on the bicycle, wet in the pool, and then wet once again for the ride back along the Trail.
I knew that this would happen, yet somehow was still foolish enough to continue.
The work shift scheduling didn’t help. I had 7am - 11am, then a two hour window, and then more work.
The window was my opening for the swim.
It was also the opening for the estuary wilds skies to release a downpour that filled my BUTT in under an hour.
I couldn’t have timed it much worse. It went from light drizzle as I set off, to an underpants drenching in less than a minute later.
I almost dried out in comparison whilst putting in the lengths in the pool.
Sharing the lane with me was a new swimmer. I felt slightly inferior as I entered the water and clocked her training schedule whiteboard:
Warm up: 200 lengths.
That’s just under a weeks swimming for me.

Hurrah!
@RobertElms kept me company for the remainder of the morning work shifts. Bowie’s Wild is the Wind sounded as epic as ever; the Lee Thompson Ska Orchestra were ACE.
I managed to get a fair whack done. I do miss the distraction of the mad cat though 🙁
I was pleased to get a couple of photos in the @Londonist Brixton Friday photo thing.
With work finishing at 7pm, I packed up the Brompton bag and headed off back to Brixton for a weekend of play.
I arrived at the other end just ahead of Anna, who had flown in especially from Sweden.
It’s not as exotic as it sounds.
BIG old day out at HQ with @surreycricket tomorrow.
I hope that it stays dry.
C’mon the ‘rey!
