A poolside character analysis with @oneeyegrey to start the working week.

There is a Nu Kid down at the lovely lido.

Actually he’s middle aged, and he’s quite a character.

He claims to have bathed in the waters of Lake Brockwell since the age of four. The past week has been the first that any of the Icicles have ever seen of him.

Cold water swimming attracts some interesting characters…

I put in the lengths, showered, and then cycled back to Sunny Stockwell. This was the first day of teaching in the brand new SW9 school.

It is a stunning piece of architecture.

The teaching space has been designed specifically for pupils with special needs. The benefits of this could be seen as soon as the first pupils started to enthusiastically explore their new surroundings.

I had been in the building many times before at different stages during the construction process. This was the first time that I have seen it since the fitting out.

The day raced by at a tremendous pace. I managed to visit all of the year groups, experiencing the same sense of excitement in each class over the new school.

The mad cat was also on my mind a lot today.

I am finding that this keeps happening when I re-visit an existing place for the first time since the mad cat sadly left us 🙁

Boy Y told me all about his adventures with his cat over the holidays. He spoke very articulately - a clear sign that he enjoys what he is talking about.

He asked me about my mad cat.

I didn’t have the heart to tell him. I shrugged my shoulders and said oh, you know.

I had to make the trip across town at chucking out time and out east to Liverpool Street and back to over there.

Oh dear.

I had some work shifts, sandwiched in-between catching up with Anna, and watching her blue nose Everton boys on TV.
