Wednesday

Some Sandy Denny to start off Wednesday morning.

Oooh.

That was nice.

I had no idea that a ‘new’ acoustic album has been released. As ever, #LateJunction is the source of all early morning knowledge for me.

The cycle in along the Trail for the swim was magnificent.

Hello sunshine. Hello mud

The estuary wilds air was slightly chilled. The season is turning, but I’m still not sure if I wants to resort to long sleeved lycra just yet.

I had a lane to myself for the forty lengths. My technique felt a little wonky. At least I was swimming in straight lines.

And then West Ham Wanker.

Oh dear.

Our shower conversation for Wednesday morning took an unexpected turn. Mr Wanker asked in great detail about cycling tactics for Grand Tours.

In the very next sentence he slipped in:

“I’m having problems getting a hard on right now.”

I was unsure about the time specific tense of the comment.

Right now as in the more general passing of time, or right now as in right here, right now?

I didn’t hang around to find out.

My first morning work shifts were with a client that I’ve had little involvement with over the summer months. I spent a lot of time playing catch up.

Inspired by the Sandy Denny, I turned to the Ewan MacColl tribute album, The Joy of Living.

I’ve not really got to grips with this since it was released. It still sounds a little ragged.

Work shifts continued; I managed a mid-morning Chronic post.

I’m still not sure what to do with it.

Demands elsewhere are taking up most of my time. But mothballing is a little defeatist.

I’m moving towards the idea of blog posts whenever time allows, and then probably just tweeting from CBC meetings - whenever time allows…

I had some work training mid-afternoon. I’m learning to rather enjoy Google Hangouts as part of a remote / connected work team.

Tickets were bought for the Lord’s final next month. We’ve splashed out for Grand Stand tickets at £50 a piece. It’s not every year that Surrey reach a HQ final.

Wait.

And then I’m not sure what happened to the rest of the day.

Odds bits of work, some admin, la Vuelta highlights - and that was about it.

I don’t like this darkness by 8:30pm 🙁
