A 7am work shift to start the weekend.
I had presumed that it would be quiet. Never presume anything…
I finished just in time to cycle over to Sunny Colch for the Castle Park Run.
The back of my right calf is still a little tender. Back in the day and this type of injury would resolve itself within days. I’ve been hobbling ever so slightly for a couple of weeks now.
I took it easy around Park Run. A yoof steward told me:
“Almost finished mate!”
I had yet to complete the first half of the course.
Cheers, fella.
The aim today was always just to get round. My calf felt fine, and I was pleased with the final official time of 23:05.
I limped back to my bike and then cycled off to the pool for a post-run splash down.
In Daisy News: They are late starters.
We watched #lolspurs over luncheon, and then Anna did her golf disappearing thing.
I had plans for the beach, but the estuary wilds weather had other ideas.
I still cycled over to Walton, and then had a delightful cup of tea and cake in the cliff top cafe.
I surprised myself by having a quick turn around, and having the energy to cycle back, rather than the lazy train option.
I got a little lost on the outskirts of Great Bentley, but still felt strong for a final sprint.
More evening work shifts, and then we both caught up with the England ODI and La Vuelta.
Knackered.
