Wednesday

A swim with Sarah to start off Wednesday morning.

We found ourselves sharing the same lane after a week of us both observing that others have invaded our space with little regard for pool etiquette.

Put simply: if there are two swimmers already in the compact lane, then you wait your turn.

It was with some trepidation that I put in the lengths with Sarah, careful not to kick her in the ribs.

A dash back to base, and then a catch up with La Vuelta from the night before.

Having missed most of Le Tour this summer due to OH SO MANY other demands, I am determined to at least catch one Grand Tour this season from start to finish.

And then some work.

Plus some planning for some future work.

The broadband back in the South Lambeth Road flat is bollocks. You can’t stream video, let alone upload.

This has led me to actually organising a South London social life around snaffling free WiFi to release school videos.

And so Wednesday morning was spent trying to patch this up.

I took the easy option and stayed with Sky. We paid in total £5.35 for line rental and broadband in the past 12 months, thanks to a Money Saving Expert deal.

You get what you pat for, etc.

The switch to fibre should take place in time for the new school term.

Monitoring…

More work, and then I couldn’t put it off any longer: time to pack away all of the possessions belonging to the mad cat.

I wasn’t in a good place last night, and so decided to give it a miss. I was much more positive for Wednesday morning.

We don’t want the house to be a museum to our very, very special friend; but then again we don’t want to throw out all of the reminders of her.

I went around each room, packing up the various cat toys that have become the norm for the past five years.

Surplus toys behind the back of chairs will probably continue to remind us of the pleasure that the mad cat gave to us.

The mad cat truly OWNED this household.

A burst of more work, and then I had an appointment at the Doctors. It was my five year male health check up.

Having to cough for the good Doctor on the hottest day of the year probably wasn’t ideal conditions.

I came out with a 2% risk of developing a heart condition over the next decade.

Never quote me the odds, etc.

I squeezed in a quick mowing of the lawn as the temperature started to drop late afternoon. I was tempted to send a picture to my Dad.

#LawnEnvy is a thing in our family.

Tomatoes were picked for the evening meal, and then I settled down for more work with the final overs of the day back at The Oval to keep me company.

An interesting work proposal for a new project dropped early evening. September could be half-decent.

I finally got round to publishing the Neighbourhood Plan recordings that I have been making this summer. They are a little hit and miss, but serve as a half decent snapshot.

Wednesday came to a close with the England innings in the ODI.
