Thursday

Some Bragg catch up with @RobertElms over breakfast to start the day.

And then I did my South London disappearing act.

I had to get out of the mad cat memory laden house to be honest. I had a few pre-arranged South London activities to tick off.

Awaiting for me in the flat was a new kitchen table.

Ah. That’s nice.

I took apart the old table, and left it outside the flat with a FREE sign attached to it.

Anna and I had a book running on how long it would last.

I didn’t have time to carry the legs down during a second journey before it had found a new home. I had to chase the lady now on the other side of South Lambeth Road to hand over the remaining parts.

Who needs Lambeth Council’s costly bulk waste collection service?

I cycled over to Camberwell to meet with an old school friend. We had a little work to complete with me offering some help on a project that she is involved with this summer.

I chose the new Camberwell library as the WiFi free base.

It was bloody brilliant.

Kids were working away - Gawd knows what on, and the Southwark staff were incredibly helpful.

Long live public libraries and not poncey WiFi coffee shop work spaces.

A mad dash back to Sunny Stockwell, and then I had a work shift out of the flat.

I finished just in time to then head over to Lake Brockwell for the sunset swim.

I have been looking forward to this all week, hopeful of catching up with some friendly Icicle faces.

Sadly the early morning Icicles weren’t around. They were probably all in bed already.

It was a glorious late evening swim. The South London sun was just starting to set at the other end of Brockwell Park.

In times of need I always return to the waters of Lake Brockwell for spiritual fulfilment.

Bloody hippie, Jase.

The water itself was dark.

You don’t say.

That’s why it’s called a night time swim…

It reminded me of the Golden Days of the lido and the summer parties thrown by Paddy and Casey.

A cycle back to Sunny Stockwell, and then a catch up with the cricket and with Anna.

We’re both starting to smile a little once again 🙂
