Up early with the South Lambeth Road sunlight streaming in.
5:30am and it wasn’t good news ðŸ™
I listened to the news reports for fifteen minutes or so, but just couldn’t take anymore.
I opted out by smiling my way through the SE17 school play videos from the night before.
Is it sufficient to simply do what makes you personally happy?
Probably not.
I drowned my sorrows in half a dozen cups of tea, and cracked on with publishing the rest of the school content.
This was a work from the Sunny Stockwell flat day. I had a run of shifts all the way through until early afternoon.
I deliberately ignored news radio; #LateJunction was my saviour instead.
Salvation was also received at the lovely lido mid-afternoon. I had a few Brixton errands around town, and then immersed myself in the waters of Lake Brockwell.
It’s been a while since I was last afforded the luxury of a Brockwell afternoon outing. It reminded me of the lost summers some twenty years when whole months were lost at the lido.
I cycled off back towards SE17. It was the occasion of the staff summer BBQ.
I was a little unsure. I’ve personally had a half-decent school. Changes are coming in September. You hopefully adapt, and then carry on.
It always feels a little weird at these staff occasions when there are no kids around. You become the proper grown ups, in the absence of having some fun with the pupils.
We all drunk some BOOZE and carried on regardless.
LOVELY folk. Always.
