The final day of the school year for me.
Woh.
It’s been a long one…
I had a random reaction to listen to Our Favourite Shop from start to finish on the train journey in.
This was always my Style Council album of choice. I use to listen to it from start to finish some thirty one summers ago before setting off for school myself.
Waiting for me at the other end of the line at LS was a copy of the NME.
Oh Lordy.
I had forgotten to be honest that this is now a freebie. It was thrust in my hand as I left the concourse.
Sure. Why not.
Back in the day and I use to buy the inky NME first thing on a Wednesday morning, and then read it from cover to cover without a break.
It usually took me the best part of the morning.
My NME consumption for this morning was over by the time the No.35 bus had crossed London Bridge.
And so a school day in SE17 awaited.
This wasn’t as full on as the usual run around. I was in primarily to capture the school play.
Far better reading than the NME was the school magazine that came back from the printers at lunchtime.
It looks absolutely ACE.
This has been a trial and error first effort with the G&T kids. I have had a little involvement, but not as much as I originally committed to.
The standard is high ahead of future publications.
Elsewhere and the Nursery kids were staging their own summer festival, but sadly this clashed with the Year 6 showtime.
I videoed the songs from the afternoon performance, and then set about turning them around at school ahead of the evening show.
The broadband back in my Sunny Stockwell flat is crap. I didn’t trust trying to upload half a dozen videos before bedtime.
It wasn’t that better at school to be honest. I spent the late afternoon walking around, trying to find the best place for a WiFi signal.
All content was released, just ahead of the evening show. I snapped away with the camera, and laughed at all of the jokes once again.
There were some fantastic stand out performances from the least likely of candidates.
I walked back to SW8, with the Brompton being back in the flat. I stopped off to see Bob, he of Bob’s Bike just off the Walworth Road.
Yer man is hopeful of some new MTB action for me next weekend.
Thursday evening was spent editing the Year 6 snaps, and then some late work shifts just before bedtime.
School’s out for summer 🙂
