Saturday

An early morning haircut with Rashid.

Yer man was on fine form. His haircut (my haircut…) was even sharper.

How could I tell?

I headed off to Specsavers in Brixton to choose some new specs.

I had an eye test a few weeks back *over there*. Not a lot has changed since my previous test four years ago.

But I fancied a new look.

Out with the black thick rimmed Graun style bins, and in with some transparent Nu Soul offerings instead.

Except I can’t bloody find any transparent Nu Soul offering; certainly not *over there*, anyway.

Brixton Specsavers did the business though. They aren’t quite what I had in mind, but I wasn’t prepared to fork out for West End custom prices.

I cycled on to the lido, strangely bumping into @Mutley69 whilst unlocking my bike in Brixton.

He had already bathed in the waters of Lake Brocwkell, and was preparing himself for the naughtiness of the Found festival back at Brockwell.

It seemed a bit early in the morning for festivities.

The lovely lido water was murky. We are entering into the peak summer period. Sun cream and cold water swimming are not great bedfellows.

I had a bit of time to spare, and so arsed around in the sauna, and then did my silly stretching routine poolside.

The bass from Found over the lido wall was starting to kick in. I was reminded of a long lost Lambeth Show, where I completely slept through an Alabama 3 set at the lido, oblivious to what was taking place just up the slope.

I cycled off once again, and headed to Brixton Cycles. The new shop looks like it is bedding down well. The space is far better than the slightly cramped old Stockwell Road set up.

Hurrah for @brixtoncycles #savebrixtoncyles we did…

The lovely staff kindly handed over my Made in Brixton, Staying in Brixton T-shirt as part of the crowd funder.

£60k - woh.

The Colne Radio crowd funder kicks off in just over a week…

Luncheon was spent at the Newport Street Gallery. It is fast becoming one of my FAVE places around this patch.

Cheeky

I had seen various online pics of the Jeff Koons exhibition. Confronting the giant phallic spandex style sculptures face to face was something else.

It was absolutely ACE.

There was a real buzz around the gallery. This is everything that firstsite back in Sunny Colch should be, but sadly has failed to achieve.

I left Newport Street grinning, and feeling slightly fruity…

Housework back in the flat soon calmed me down.

And then chainsaws: F-YEAH.

I tackled the South Lambeth Road garden once again.

The plan was to disappear down Lansdowne Way to The Priory for the England game. But works shifts came-a-calling, as well as an early work start in the morning.

And so I listened to the England match, stone cold sober.

Probably for the best.
