Friday

A very light run to start off Friday morning. I had work shifts all day, and so no time to get my arse in gear and go for a swim.

It was the usual route around the University, undertaken at very much a jog, rather than a run.

I caved in on the soundtrack front, running around Wivenhoe Park listening to the Purple Rain soundtrack.

I’ve deliberately avoided this of late. It is an incredibly personal album for me, and one that I have probably listened to 1,000 times already too often.

Plus it’s such a cliche. Prince was so much more than that.

But it was a bloody good listen as I pounded the mean streets of CO7.

Plus for the record, Let’s Go Crazy to the closing chords of Purple Rain are timed at the exact same duration it takes for me to complete the waddle.

Oh dear

In Gardening Shit is Happening News: the garden shit is happening.

The tomatoes have started to flower; the courgettes haven’t blown over yet.

We celebrated with some microwave pizzas for luncheon.

Work was pretty woeful to be honest. In fact it was bloody awful all day, from 8am though until 8pm.

Some last minute training was scheduled.

There goes my Sunday…

Plans for being on the piss watching the t20 were soon abandoned. I made use of my sobriety instead by finally finishing the Brixton Buzz scoop that we have been working on for over a year now.

It has been… delicate.

It’s scheduled for tomorrow morning.

We’ll see…
