Thursday

Another 7am work shift start. I use to enjoy these early morning shifts. The modern interweb was still sleeping. The workflow was manageable.

What the chuffers happened there this morning?

POW. Right in the kisser.

Two hours later and I came up for some air.

Or rather some water with the morning swim.

It was bloody blustery out there on the Trail this morning. It felt more like cycling in mid-October. I was wearing my winter cycling jersey.

Trailblazing, innit

The pool was… functional.

More work, and then I had a date with an Addicted to Love guitar girl.

True!

But she is far more than that…

It was an interview for a pretty major Buzz story. We’ve been chasing it for over a year now, doing the legwork and putting in the FoI’s.

We very nearly lost the story today with a rival moving in (in fact I’m not entirely sure that we still haven’t lost it…)

I was a little frustrated at the time.

That is an understatement.

I had a photoshoot with some more of the Colne Radio DJ’s later in the afternoon, and so had to cut short the questioning.

I tried to write up the scoop, but work shifts were also scheduled.

And then the evening involved me presenting the new Colne Radio website and crowd funding video to the Board.

It went down very well, but I really needed to get that Buzz story out.

I had more work early evening, and then the Cllr Heywood story broke.

Anna came back from South London late evening. We just had enough time for some pasta and a catch up.

But still no Buzz piece.

First thing Friday it will have to be, then.
