Straight outta the estuary wilds, and Straight into SW9 for a full on school day.
Hurrah!
The new school building is almost complete. I’ve been away for a couple of weeks, but the pace of work is impressive.
First up was music.

He was asked later in the day during a food tech lesson what is the difference between dark chocolate and milk chocolate?
“Dark chocolate is NASTY.”
I then thrashed him at Connect 4 over the lunch break.
The afternoon session was livened up with a fire drill. I didn’t get as much time to get around all of the classrooms that I wanted.
I had to do a disappearing act at chucking out time and cycle straight off to SE17. I had promised to be at Journo Club for the Faraday G&T kids.
We’ve got them writing structured news stories, picking out the key facts and sourcing some decent quotes. I’m a little concerned about the deadline for the first school magazine by the end of term…
Always on the move, it was then a sharp dash back to Sunny Stockwell, and then straight out once again to The Oval.
The ‘rrey had their first home t20 match of the season. I was BOOZE free, with another full on school day in the morning.
I was tempted to explore the new Member’s roof terrace, but opted for the familiarity of the Pavilion instead.
I absolutely love it in there. The sense of South London history is soaked up in the walls of the Long Room.
There were a fair few other soaks in the Long Room as well on Thursday evening to be honest.
The cricket itself was a much more sober affair.
I’ll need purifying in the waters of Lake Brockwell early on Friday morning.
