A hangover heavy Colchester Park Run to start Saturday.
Ouch.
Blame @surreycricket.
This wasn’t a Castle Park morning for PB’s. But then I say that every bloody Saturday morning.
Joining me this week in Sunny Colch was Anna.
Well I never.
Wifey has picked up the running bug. I’m surprised that it has taken her so long to be honest.
EVERYTHING is competitive with Anna (although I do suspect that the running is simply a ruse to buy more sports clothes).
I had a decent first circuit, but then the BOOZE from the night before slowed me down for the second climb. I managed a sprint finish at the end.
A final time of 22’01” was decent - 8 seconds off a Castle Park PB.
We both then did a few chores around town. This included fighting over a hat in our FAVE Colchester charity shop.
I won 🙂
We made our way over to The Mercury for the Jumbo consultation. To be honest I just wanted to snap it for The Chronic.
Exhibition @mercurytheatre half decent though. Do add your views #Colchester pic.twitter.com/Tcf2VbqjSW

I took a few random iPhone pictures, and left Anna to do all the consultation talking.
We have been meaning to get down to East Hill for a number of weeks now, ever since we first heard that the lovely Auction Rooms was sadly closing.
But our South London lifestyles have kept us away from Sunny Colch for the past month.
It was a very threadbare, heartbreaking sight. Not a lot was left in the fire sale. I confess to not having spent as much as I would have liked in the shop over the past couple of years.
Anna buggered off to the pool, whilst I headed out to Re-cycle in Wormingford to buy a new MTB.
The plan was to bus it over there, and then ride back into town on the new bike, pick up the old MTB, and then train it back to base.
I do love a good plan.
But which dozy f-er forgot to check if Re-cycle was actually open?
Doh!
The next bus back was due in an hour. I had no other transport with me.
And so I walked it back to Sunny Colch - all four miles or so.
I picked up my old MTB, and then had a very leisurely ride back along the Trail. It was an incredibly high water, with a number of big boats heading down to the Hythe.
If I stayed still in the house then I would have fallen asleep. I took on some energy, but was Stinkin’ Thinkin’.
And so I cycled back along the Trail to the pool for a light swim and a clean up.
Twenty poxy lengths, and then an hour and a half of pampering in the spa. Some weird kid was trying to swim the butterfly. It looked more like a starfish style circuit training jump.
Anna had disappeared back to South London by the time I got back. It’s the korfball club’s 20th anniversary party.
Happy Birthday @supernovakc https://t.co/WKrc50s0AE Gosh. Haven't we aged 🙁

Yep - 20 years ago this week we broke away from Vultrix in Brixton, and set up Supernova. It is with an immense sense of achievement that Supernova is the biggest club in South London, and is still going strong.
I boycotted the party though. It was a black tie affair. I don’t do the dickie bow for any f-ers. It’s a Class War thing, Comrades.
And so I had the house to myself for the FA Cup Final.
Truth be told and I lost all interest back in ’91 when Forest lost to Spurs. I confess to rather enjoying the 2016 occasion though.
The rest of Saturday evening was spent sober and on work shifts.
Knackered.
