Ducking and diving in the lovely lido early on Monday morning.
I had a lane of Brockwell blue all to myself - apart from the duck that decided to join me as I put the lengths in.
It was not entirely clear as to whom was gatecrashing whose swimming party. I had a happier co-exstince with a duck compared to some of the wetsuit rubber boys and girls.
A very pleasant compliment was made about my swimming technique after leaving the water. Apparently I have the perfect reach and rhythm.
It was the duck that made me look half-decent to be honest.
I cycled from the lido and the short commute to a school day in SE21.
These are always unpredictable and absolutely ACE.
It was a quick turnaround after the morning assembly, and then the shout went out of:
“Back to Brockwell!”
Hurrah!
I was very kindly invited to join the Year 11 students on their trip into the local community as part of their PSHCE learning.
We had a charming morning coffee at Brockwell Hall, and then some time spent feeding the… Brockwell ducks.
OH HAI fella.
I recognise you from the swim earlier.
We even managed a trip into the Brockwell *shhh* Secret Garden.
It is in my diary to give it the annual photoshoot treatment in a couple of weeks. Timing the splendour of the Secret Garden is key.
It appeared marvellous on Monday morning, although at least another fortnight away from mid-summer perfection.
I had a few storage issues with my iPhone. I’ve absolutely no idea why, but bloody audioboom decided to eat into 3GB of storage.
This was absolute bollocks. The app had one unpublished two minute recording.
I needed space for video content ASAP, and so deleted audioboom, reinstalled and whaddyaknow: 3GB free again.
The modern interweb is WEIRD.
I took part in a Year WW1 workshop before luncheon. It involved dressing up. It looked very similar to my weekend army surplus clothing fixation.
I managed to escape SE21 at chucking out time, and then did some double dipping back at Lake Brockwell.
It would have been rude not to.
A quick cycle back to the flat, and then Monday evening was spent over in Waterloo with a Garden Bridge meeting.
Bloody Garden Bridge.
That very decent Kate Hoey MP was Chairing.
I tweeted my arse off, laughed at the folly of the Garden Bridge, and had some wonderful conversations with some very decent people.
Oh yeah - Anna tried to FaceTime during the meeting. I handed her over to @OneEyeGrey.
She didn’t seem to notice 🙁
