7am Monday morning work shifts.
Start ’em early.
The mid-morning break saw the escape to the pool. It was low tide along the trail. #Essex MUD was bloody everywhere.
Thirty power lengths, and I quit whilst I was ahead.
I tried to work whilst listening to @RobertElms. But it got too much. Yer man is just too engaging and requires your full attention.
I did appreciate him playing Kirsty’s My Affair though; a song so full of optimism with Kirsty at her peak 🙁
Much of the working day was then spent report writing.
Confession: I’m not very good at this…
Anna ordered me out to snap away briefly at the wisteria. I reckon that it is still a couple of days away from #PeakWisteria.
But with the sun out, I was sent out to capture it.
It smells bloody beautiful. Every bee in North Essex seems to be buzzing in my back garden right now.
The dates dropped late afternoon for the school activities between now and the end of term in SE17.
BUSY.
It’s the best and worst time in the school calendar. It’s no wonder that a six week break is needed for all at the end of it.
I was asked late in the day to prepare a session on how to write news stories for the Journo Club later in the week.
Simple, innit:
Who, what, where, why and when.
Plus publish first, worry about the consequences later.
(I don’t think think that I will be passing on my hit ‘n’ run style to the kids).
I spent Monday evening finishing off the website for the Publisher that I will be working with on a book launch over the next month or so.
I love seeing a bare bones site all of a sudden become busy with content.
Social platforms are up next.
May is looking a little mad…
Monday evening was spent on Brixton Buzz action and the SEXY action of the Lambeth Council Scrutiny Committee.
It’s deadly serious stuff, and one that certainly deserves a wider audience out there on Buzz.
The end result wasn’t entirely favourable for residents, but Scrutiny is finally showing some balls, voting to pass the decision back to Cabinet with some recommendations.
