A Wifey Weekend Roll Out to start Sunday.

It was a fairly routine ride, apart from me swallowing a fly. I don’t know why, etc…

I found it hard work getting going for the first 10km or so, and then eventually settled into some kind of rhythm.

Anna’s aim is to always try and finish ahead of the 25kmh tipping point. We just managed it this morning.

Some household chores followed, whilst I waited for high tide.

HIGH TIDE!

It was another beaut. Anna buggered off to play silly golf, and so I had an afternoon on the water planned in the canoe.

Wheeling my canoe down to the Quay isn’t the most gracious of sights. I didn’t look half as odd though as the fella trundling along the front in his Sinclair C5.

Funny old town.

The water was incredibly high. It reached the gates of the old Sailing Club hard. There wasn’t any dry land to store my trolley and change of shoes.

I paddled up to the barrier against the tide, and then thought bugger this.

I drifted back down to the Roman river for some nature shit to explore. The strength of the changing tide made it tricky even accessing the Roman river.

I pressed on for another fifteen minutes or so, but was whacked. I nodded off for a couple of minutes, and allowed the outgoing tide to drift me back to the mouth of the Colne.

Summer, innit

A brief clean up back at base, and then I hit the hammock with @surreycricket. I think that the start of May is the earliest that I have done this.

Sunday evening was booze free, with preparation for the week ahead.
