Sunday

A breakfast Brixton Buzz post.

Cllr Heywood has got BALLS, I’ll give you that.

Top girl.

A Wifey Weekend Roll Out then kick started Sunday.

Chapeau!

Chapeau!

Anna was leading. As ever, I hadn’t a bloody clue where she was taking me around the North Essex country lanes.

It was the ideal conditions for a short hop. My tights were replaced with the appearance of the two thirds silly lycra offerings. I almost picked up a cycling tan.

Everything just felt right: my fitness, the gears, and the general mechanics of the roadie. This was most unusual for such an early ride in the season.

The roads were busy with other cyclists doing the weekend run. We even spotted the mad cat somewhere around Elmstead (except it wasn’t our mad cat…)

A horse rider came within our range around the turning of another corner.

“Shall I ring my bell?”

…asked Anna.

She has yet to pick up on this country code etiquette.

There was some mass organised run also taking place along our route. It was bloody impressive - around 500 or so runners sprinting past in the opposite direction.

My incentive to get a move on was to hear commentary on the first ball of the new Surrey season at Trent Bridge.

I had to make do with the fifth over instead.

C’mon the ‘rrey!

And then a very different way to spend a Sunday afternoon: a photo shoot for a local political party.

Whoops.

Except it’s not really a political party, but the Wivenhoe Indies.

I’ve agreed to hack together a basic website for the three Indies standing in the CBC local elections next month.

We blitzed the town from top to bottom, snapping away at all of the landmarks. It is very difficult not to shoot anything but Glum Cllr POTHOLE pics.

A cheeky luncheon pint was had down at the Quay. It was bloody beautiful out in the estuary sun.

We kept on walking out to the new pontoon. It looks most impressive.

And then it was a case of Ill Met by Moonlight… as we bumped into the army of Labour party door knockers.

They still won’t knock at my door

The photoshoot was finished in time for me to catch the final 45km or so of Paris-Roubaix.

WHAT A RACE!

I love that event.

I edited the Glum Cllr photos whilst watching the Man Utd Vs lolspurs match.

The rest of the evening was spent on a fresh WordPress install, and then work shifts to end the weekend.
