A beastly start to the Bank Holiday.
The estuary wilds battered the side of the house from 4am onwards. The attic bedroom was swaying. We hadn’t been drinking the night before.
The storm continued throughout the early hours, and then blew itself away as I was tucking into my Bran Flakes.
This wasn’t suitable weather for the planned bike ride.
And so a run instead.
I surveyed the Storm Katie damage before getting into my stride. We are one bamboo tree down. I can live with that.
The run was incredibly heavy and plodding. I wasn’t sure why.
I found out when I got back to base and realised that I had picked up Anna’s shaking lurgy. We both spent the rest of the day doing Shakin’ Stevens impressions.
A Night Nurse pact is promised for later.
I was quite pleased to see that the Wivenhoe Town promotion party had been postponed - purely for personal selfish reasons.
Unfortunately the change of kick off now can't happen. Bury unable to field a side for the later kick off. Match postponed

I made the most of being stuck indoors by picking up a run of work shifts.
A spot of photo unarchiving late in the evening. I’ve hit Lido GOLD with some stunning snaps from 2005 that I had forgotten all about.
Night Nurse was then necked ahead of bedtime.
See you on the other side, Comrades.
Happy Shaky dreams.
