Friday

A 7am work shift, and then a lovely lido swim. I’m not sure which one was more intimidating.

I had trepidations about Lake Brockwell, having been away from Transpontonia for over a week. The water temperature hasn’t really dipped in my absence, maintaining a lively 7 degrees.

It was a brilliant, brilliant Brockwell blue. I knew that it would be OK when I saw @mutley69 doing his pre-swim headstand at the other end of the pool when I rolled up.

The plan was for six lengths.

I didn’t want to leave the water. I pressed on for 8.

I floated around in the deep end for 30 seconds or so once I had finished. My underwater view took me the full 55 yards all the way down to the other end of the pool.

Lake Brockwell remains my home. My ABSOLUTE home. I seriously want to live there.

I left the water and was embraced by Le Gai Pensionnaire. I do LOVE a good man hug at 8:30am.

Mr Pensionnaire was sporting a new pair of fish style flip flops. They were absolutely ridiculous, but suited the man to perfection.

And then a short cycle through Brixton, and a school day in SW9.

It was the usual glorious random experience. My personal highlight was probably being caught out playing Simon Said.

So what if I was skipping around the classroom when Simon hadn’t sanctioned it?

The school day came and went. It ended with me walking out with Boy Y’s slice of quiche that he had baked earlier.

It was given up as an offering - Boy Y was is the share and share alike sort of fella.

I headed off to the Bowie Brixton mural one again after school. I keep on being drawn back here. I’m not alone.

Wake up you sleepy heads

It has become a such a respectful place in the heart of Brixton to take some time out and think about… life.

Wake up you sleepy head, etc.

I had to be back in the flat for a stop / stop run of work shifts.

I managed to sandwich in a Buzz piece on the Cressingham Cabinet report.

These decisions always seem to drop at the most inconvenient moment.

I reckon they do this on purpose.
