Monday

Anna buggered off early to South London on Monday morning with her bloody snowboard.

Good luck with that one on the Northern Line, girl.

It wasn’t quite thermal weather out on the trail, but I was in need of two pairs of gloves as I cycled off for the swim.

I can’t say I’m feeling much enthusiasm for the lovely lido later in the week.

I arrived at the pool to see details of the current Plank Challenge on the noticeboard.

I like to think of myself as something of a plank.

The idea is to see who can keep the gym plank position for the longest. It’s all a bit of a willy measuring contest, but fair play to the fella who has the stamina for a whole 8 minutes.

I often spend less than 8 minutes in the pool.

I managed the 40 lengths for Monday morning, but the WEIRD swimming toe cramp thing kicked in after the first few lengths.

I know that I’m not alone in experiencing this.

Waiting for me back at base was my new knob.

No cramp issues there.

But it didn’t bloody fit.

Anna managed to break my oven knob last week. An online £10 later, and I had hoped job’s a good ‘un.

But we remain knobless.

Work was confusing for Monday morning. I knew it would be like this.

I was last on shift for a client over the weekend. Monday morning brings the all the admin and housekeeping from the weekend fall out.

Skype is not a great platform for resolving remote working issues.

Soundtrack wise and I started with Serenade Radio.

Yeah. I know.

I like the mid-morning feel to it.

Three cups of tea later and I was rocking Louie Vega with Gilles Peterson.

I managed to down work tools early evening.

Anna was running late, stuck in South London. She told me fanciful tales of being delayed carrying a cooler box.

I don’t think that the boozy lunch at Lassco helped.

I made the most of the extra evening time by hacking around some WP plugins for school site changes.

My approach for this task is to pretty much bodge through blind-folded.

…and then I mail Polom.

I had Ray Charles as company to see me through my butchering.

Blind leading the blind, etc.

I picked up an unexpected work shift late in the day. It took me all the way through until 11pm.

Anna returned, tired and emotional from South London.

Also minus a snowboard bag.

Funny old backwards and forwards lifestyle existence.
