Welcome to Metroknobbers.
Oh Lordy.
And so the plan for a random podcast was first hatched with @Darryl1974 whilst we were cycling around central London last Saturday as part of #safe4cycling.
It was a very valid ride, but something a little stale. The comment was made that it felt like Critical Mass Lite.
And then came the political speeches.
Labour, the LibDems, the Greens and Boris’ stooge all played to the pre-election gallery, saying how much they supported cycling in the capital.
JUST GIVE US YOUR CHUFFING VOTE, etc.
Darryl is an old hand when it comes to hyperlocal political blogging. I can bluff it along with the best of them.
We decided there and then to try and record a hit and miss podcast. The idea would be to look back at what we’ve been doing in our own hyperlocal patches over the past fortnight, as well as to share any thoughts on anything that takes our interest online.
We are being… Metroknobbers.
Aha!
We’ve optimistically set the challenge of recording these every fortnight. We reserve the right to be more irregular as the work / life balance dictates. We may even give up after Metroknobbers No. 1.
We’re NOT paying for professional pod hosting. We’re NOT creating any of the social media channels for Metroknobbers either. We are who we are.
METROKNOBBERS!
