Much London lovliness from St Etienne and the prequel to the Finisterre documentary. How We Used to Live gets it’s premier at the BFI next month. Any part-time psychogeographic blogger will be creaming it over the promise of:
“The fourth dimension is the past.”
The topological teasing adds:
“…take a time machine back to the recent past and make a contemporary film with the advantage of having seen the world from a twenty-first century perspective.”
Old St Pancras and Withnail wrecking balls appear alongside bowler hats.
It looks ACE.
How We Used to Live should be viewed in tandem with Patrick Keiller’s London, *possibly* the finest appearance from the capital on film.
Plus there’s a definite head nod towards @thegentleauthor and the publishing of Bob Mazzer’s photogrpahs from the underground during the 80′s.
London wasn’t all about austere black and white living in the past. Don’t believe the first, second and third dimension hype.

“I don’t see how I can support my family if the people I work for keep giving away their product for free.”
Tony Parsons deserts one shitty tabloid for another.
Any excuse to embed the ACE Pay the Writer.
Still as relevant now as it ever was.
