IFTTT has been unreliable of late. I’ve got around a half a dozen accounts set up, all instructed to do roughly the same task: If I post a photo to this Insta account with a certain hashtag, then please also post it to this particular tumblr.
When it works, it works a dream. When it gets b0Rked, it’s a right bloody pain to work out what is causing the blockage.
I decided not to investigate further late into Saturday night. Late for me these days is 9pm. I tacked the task on Sunday morning instead.
My best modern interweb rule is if something takes more than five minutes and is doing your nut in, move on.
This morning I deleted the pesky IFTTT applet, and then set it up again. Let’s see if this has an impact.
Of course I could always just post up the images natively to tumblr. But that would be far too sensible.
The early start meant that I was free for a bicycle ride at 7:30am. Daylight was starting to emerge, along with a fire brand red Estuary Wilds sky. I decided on the Abberton loop.
I rolled out down to the Hythe on the Raleigh electric. There was a strong smell of weed at 7:45am.
A bit early in the day for festivities, etc.
The roads were damp. This was a disappointment. I still treat my Raleigh as though it is a box fresh bicycle.
Fingringhoe was a little odd; Fingringhoe is always a little odd.
A public bench on the Green had a life size teddy bear dressed in traditional Scottish tartan. I decided to keep on cycling and not investigate further.
Banks of snowdrops greeted me on either side of the road. This was most welcome. As was the sight of a new solar field a little further into the ride.
Sustainable shit, innit.
In Save Birch Church News: there seems to be a bit of a compromise. Placards appeared late summer in many front gardens around the Abberton stretch. It turns out that the EVIL folk of Chelmsford Diocese wanted rid.
But wait! What’s this?
The placards have now been papered over with a helpful poster saying ‘Working with the Diocese.”
It suggests that a compromise is taking place. These Centrists Christian lot always do tend to take the middle ground.
Just kick it until it breaks, etc.
I stopped off at Lidl on the run in back to base. Both panniers were loaded up with BOOZE. And pesto. That should see me through to the start of spring.
Sunday afternoon was spent on housework duties whilst listening to Forest. This is the only way I can manage my football emotions these days.
An away point in the Premier League is not to be sniffed at.
