Album of the Day: Rod Stewart - Gasoline Alley
This has a real ragtime feel to it. Rod can’t half belt them out. The rawness makes it sound like a busking session. Only a Hobo is even better than Bob’s effort. Overall it comes across as more of a Faces album than a solo Rod effort. It’s all the better for it.

Storm damage surveying to start the week. I hate this shit. So far I think we’ve got away with it. The situation at 3am with the house rocking back and forth didn’t feel so fortunate.
Next issue to overcome: gas works taking place on the road outside.
Arse.
These are scheduled to last for a month or so. The gas fellas chose our little stretch of the road to start with.
This means having some industrial sized drill pulling up the road, a metre away from the front door. The house took on the swaying back and forth again.
Holes have been dug outside each house. Our supply is being cut off tomorrow. The plan is to fee a new supply pipe through.
Our hole is about one metre square. The neighbours’ is the size of a family burial plot. I fear that this isn’t going to end well.
It was impossible to listen to any music whilst working with all the drilling taking place. I got my head down and did the best I can.
I settled the tax bill at lunchtime. This hurts every time.
There was one very angry Forest podcast catching up with Forest Focus. I listened to the immediate post-match stream following Brentford away on Saturday.
I was annoyed, possibly a little bothered. The FF boys were bloody outraged with the Ivan Foamy incident.
A made some more veg shit soup for lunch. There’s only so much you can do with a weekly delivery of turnips.
Monday evening was spent watching L******er Vs Ipswich. Both teams look very strong for the Championship.
