Album of the Day: The Sensational Alex Harvey Band - Next
A unique sound. At a push I would describe it as Glam Music Hall. It’s beefy and playful. There’s some power coming out of those vocals. The brass is joyous. Some of the songs you couldn’t get away with these days. Gang Bang was interesting. In its favour is that the whole album lasts 35 minutes. All albums should follow the same.

A day of work, a day of Sunny Stockwell household chores.
Stocking up at Lidl was first on the To Do list. I rocked up, eager with all the excitement that lies within.
But wait! What’s this?
Lidl had the bloody decorators in.
Arse.
The whole store was closed for the day. What’s a Boy About Town suppose to do now when he craves processed bread rolls with a thick crust of a layer described as cheese?
To Sainsbury!
Oh Lordy.
It’s been a decade or more since I’ve graced the Nine Elms BEAST with my presence. Talk about Lost in the Supermarket, etc.
I use to struggle in the old Nine Elms Sainsbury. Entering the new(ish) beast is now a task in itself. You have to board the aisles on an escalator that wouldn’t look out of place at an airport.
I spent a grand total of £4.85.
Dining like KINGS in SW8, I tell you.
The next task was a major South Lambeth Road garden tidy up. This hasn’t been tackled in two months. It shows.
I made sure I was wearing the industrial strength gardening gloves. Back in the bloody Estuary Wilds, you can uncover cat shit in the undergrowth. Here in Sunny Stockwell and the main danger is used condoms.
Ewww.
I timed the gardening session to perfection to have the SW8 sun on my back. Come midsummer and the place becomes a sun trap. It’s too hot to even empty the bins. Not so today.
Some online admin followed. My pension company emailed to invite me to a Retirement Webinar.
Steady the buffers, Jase.
And DREAM ON.
One day…
