Album of the Day: Jay Wobble’s Invaders Of The Heart - Rising Above Bedlam

The bass dominates here, as expected. There’s always an ambience to Wobble. It’s more sound than songs. The flamenco guitar was a surprise. Ditto the samba rhythms. The album strays a little towards the end. The focus isn’t quite there.

Steady sleet started the new working week. This soon became snow. Heavy and sustained snow. It settled in the garden, but not on the roads. Bicycle rides still remain a distant hope.

My YT channel hit the 750 subscriber mark overnight. I still need around 1,200 hours of streaming before the monetization kicks in. I’m playing the long game.

Most of Monday was spent wfh. I had a break over luncheon for a few chores around the town. But OF COURSE this coincided with the sleet returning.

It was the nasty, pelting little sleet that pierces your eyes. Walking in a straight line was difficult. I gave the impression of being drunk at 1pm.

Chin chin.

Some cheapo apples were picked up from the private property that has now become a DIY fruit and veg stall.

The next stop was to the In-Store collection point to pick up my purple trackie bottoms. They are absolute BEAUTS. Art has indeed become reality.

You purple PONCE.

Back at base and A had rustled up hew usual veg shit winter soup. It was just what was needed to warm me through ahead of the afternoon shifts.

Some old pin badges were put on ebay: Surrey, London Knights and Notts County. Ebay now has an AI functionality that writes the description for you. It made for comical reading.

I listened to the D&B Show and 2023 Reloaded. The Streets’ Blinded by the Light mix was dropped. PROPER old school. Rammo in the main room, etc.

It’s been a decent year for D&B. The shift towards the mainstream has continued, with a few exceptions that kept it nice and tidy.

The Forest fall out from Blackpool at home also dominated Monday. Two podcasts, a YT catch up vid, and then BBC Radio Nottingham in the evening.

I use to laugh at the idea of Forest TV back in the day. You could now quite easily spend four or five a days consuming Forest audio and video content.

Don’t go there, Jase.

Monday evening saw the conclusion of the Christopher Guest run of films. We saved the best until last: TAP into America, etc.

It’s been over a decade since we last watched Spinal Tap. It never ages.

Shout out too for Best in Show, a Christopher Guest film that gives Tap a good run for its money.

The cats slept all day, btw. I don’t blame them.
