More teasing from SAULT overnight. The Insta feed became a little clearer with the first live show. It looks like The Drumsheds on Thursday.
I’m actually around and could make it. Good luck in getting a ticket, Jase.
The first task of the morning was to cancel the subscription for Disney+. I’ve blitzed all the Star Wars spin offs that I wanted to watch. The cheapo offer runs out at the end of the week.
My Google Cal is littered with reminders to cancel this, cancel that. I don’t think I’ve ever paid the full price for anything online.
Album of the Day: Beastie Boys - Ill Communication
There’s a lot going off here. Too much. It’s a mixed bag, with some interesting samples. Definitely a departure and progress from went before. But It jumps around a little too much for my liking. Sabotage remains sublime. That kicked the shit out of Monday morning for me.

Buzzed: 22% of Council stock managed by Lambeth fails to meet the Decent Homes Standard
“A new ‘Citizen Portal’ is set to launch soon. The idea is that this will help residents report any ongoing issues they have across all Council services. We hope that the tech team has bought up sufficient bandwidth”
The Gilles Peterson catch up was great. He dropped some Stereolab. They’re perhaps the most underrated band.
The Forest fall out continued with the new Forest Focus podcast. Fletch was a guest. It’s great to have someone who is so obviously well connected and a genuine Forest fan.
He described the current situation at the World Famous City Ground as “messy.” There are so many layers to the story.
I managed to escape for a late afternoon walk. I say late afternoon - it was only 3pm. Dusk was creeping ever further closer.
The other end of the estuary was my destination. It wasn’t cold, but I was surprised to see an elderly couple taking afternoon tea sitting outdoors on the balcony overlooking the estuary.
There was a spectacular Estuary Wilds sunset. I could see it shifting, almost second by second. The hedgerows on the Alresford side were illuminated. I snapped away with the PEN-F.
I reached one end of the Trail, and then turned around. The sun had disappeared and I had no lights.
Some fella on the same model of Raleigh electric cycled past.
Chapeau!
The big old house along our road with the free mistletoe has now been cleared out of the kissing greenery. There must be a lot of lovers around these parts.
I listened to the latest Word In Your Ear podcast. Rob Fitzpatrick was talking about his recent Graun piece on Michiru Aoyama.
He’s a Japanese fella who records and releases an ambient album a day. Streaming makes this almost impossible task a little easier.
I was fascinated by the story. I explored a little further back at base and started to follow Michiru Aoyama on Spotify.
Along with the 1,0001 albums list, I’m going to stretch myself by trying to listen to each new album at the start of the morning. I need some ambience as I carry out my online admin tasks to start the day.
A returned from a Lidl run. The FUCK OFF Lidl brick of cheese has actually been reduced in price. We were paying over £5 for the cheddar brick. It’s ducked below this for the first time in six months.
BBC Nottingham’s Forest fall out was on the agenda early evening. It is all so delicate, so fragile. Steve Cooper is surviving on a day to day basis right now. That’s not sustainable for anyone.
We watched the Performance film in the evening.
Christ, that was shit.
