WordPress got on my tits far too early to start the working week. All I wanted to do was to update an Ofsted report for SE21.

I’ve got this linked in the footer of the site via a widget. I set this up back in the good old WordPress days of the classic Editor.

Blocks and I have never really been friends.

I updated the content in Blocks. It was there sitting in the back end. But the front end refused to update.

Arse.

I installed a plugin to disable Blocks in the Editor.

There. That did the job.

I’m getting far too old to keep up with all this shit.

Album of the Day - Tom Waits - Rain Dogs

There’s no one else like Tom Waits. Dr John comes close, but Waits is unique. I love the rhythmic feel to Rain Dogs. His storytelling is superb. There’s an uplifting and almost spiritual feel to some of the songs. Hang Down Your Head remains a favourite.

My Spotify Wrapped landed. It’s a little warped. Most of my streaming is via Amazon Music which is hooked up to Alexa.

Wrapped made for interesting reading though.

Apparently I only listen to two musical genres. That’s can’t be right.

Cleaners From Venus and Finding Any Town is my most streamed. This is weird as well. I rinsed The Days of May back in… May.

No surprises to see Sleaford fucking Mods as my second most streamed artist.

But wait! What’s this?

How the chuffers did Brian Eno slip in at No. 5? No shame in that.

I clocked up 10,933 hours of streaming. That’s what the 1,001 Albums list does to you. Plus also wfh.

Album of the Day Extra: The Kinks - Something Else

There’s a jamboree sound to this record. It’s a mixed bag with even some sea shanty songs - never a good sign. The Coral leaned heavy on this. It plodded along, apart from the singles. The three stars were for Waterloo Sunset alone.

BLOGGED: Colchester Climate Action: Heating Up at Town Hall Meeting

“The Council achieved a 34% rating in the Council Climate Action Scorecards, surpassing the district council average of 29%”

I had a brief window in the working day for a wander around the village. I thought that the rain had stopped. I was wrong.

In my ears was the first Forest Focus podcast. It’s the old Garibaldi Red team setting up a new venture. They couldn’t have picked a worse time to be launching a podcast about how great things are right now down at the World Famous City Ground.

The podcast was almost as grim as the weather. I knew that the Everton home match wasn’t great. I didn’t pick up the toxic nature around the ground from watching on the telly.

Chats with pals who were present, plus the Forest Focus podcast has now led me to believe that we are in deep, deep shit. I’d be surprised if Cooper survives a defeat away at Fulham on Wednesday.

The light started to fade on the back half of my 5km walk. A white van man deliberately swerved to splash straight through a dirty puddle and splashed me from head to toe.

Cheers, white van man.

Knobber.
