Sunday was a weird one.
I’m still pretty much restricted to the Weird Wiv radar. Travel for leisure further afield is not recommended. This feels like Lockdown 3. Or should that be Lockdown 4?
Hey hoe.
There’s still plenty to do around the bloody Estuary Wilds.
Honest.
How about some American football? The Essex Blades had the first home match of the season up on campus. That would be a nice walk, with some freebie sport thrown in.
My kinda Sunday.
And so To the University! With the latest Deserter Pubcast in my AirPods!
Chin Chin.
I arrived at the sports pitches. There was a few wheezing students running around kicking a football. But that was about it.
Oh dear.
ou est le US footie lot?
I checked Insta again. Yep, 12:30pm kick off, home match on the University sports pitches. It’s actually quite hard to hide that you’re playing a full on game of gridiron.
I carried on walking. Down Boundary Road, cutting down to the Trail, and then back to Weird Wiv along the estuary. It was damp, but decent with some added photography thrown in.
Fungi was rife along the Trail. The path still looked passable on a bicycle.
Those were the days.
Back through the town and the Weird Wiv Art Trail was in full swing. It looked very popular. We were tempted to tag along later in the day.
I have no plans - or budget - to buy art right now. I find it a little socially awkward snooping around other peoples houses.
Back at base and I checked the Blades’ Insta.
Ah. Cancelled. At very short notice. No worries. That was a pleasant enough couple of hours spent hacking along by the estuary.
I played the Yussef Dayes album during the afternoon. I was blown away by his live performance on Later a couple of weeks ago. The album is lengthy, but equally electric.
And then DARTS.
Any day that ends with darts has to be half decent.
I’ve got a work related task to carry out tomorrow that I’ve been weighing up for far too long tbh. It’s a decision that I maybe should have made three years ago.
Fingers crossed.
SEND.
Gulp.
