Album of the Day: Ice T - O.G. Original Gangster

You’ve got to be in the right frame of mind to make this work. A drizzly early morning stuck in the bloody Estuary Wilds is not quite South Central. It’s a comedy album, right? So much machismo.

Nice use of antidisestablishmentarianism. It’s a shame there was no rhyme for this. Quite funky for hip hop. It bridges old school with world domination superstars.

Buzzed: Lambeth Council estimates issuing 50,000 parking debt warrants per year

Another day spent indoors recuperating. And working. And listening. And reading.

I’m rather enjoying this SLOWPOKE approach to life.

Bob Elms dropped Suzanne Vega’s Marlene on the Wall. TUNE! I’ve not heard that in years. I’ve got the CD, I think?

Yep, there it was, buried away in the ever growing To Listen pile. I forget where I picked it up from. Probably the ace Frinton second hand record shop.

The afternoon listening went a little retro. Some Dylan led to The Band’s debut. Music from the Big Pink was another newbie for me.

I recognised some of the songs. And then the opening chords for Long Black Veil were strummed out. Blimey. I know this as a Diesel Park West b-side. The Band are a little more polished, natch.

I made more progress with the Reds and Rams book late afternoon. We’ve reached the 1970’s. We’ve reached the Clough and Taylor years.

I’d love to go back to that period and live out the Glory Years again. Not as a 7 year-old, but maybe as a 30 something with some life perspective.

An email dropped asking me to select a PPC. I couldn’t possibly tell you for which party, Comrades.

A brief Lambeth Twitter read showed yet another Labour Cllr fancies himself as an MP. Oh, he’s my Cllr as well. What is it with Lambeth Labour being a breeding ground for political careerists?
