Album of the Day: The Only Ones - The Only Ones
There’s not a lot here tbh apart from *that* single. It’s… the only one.

The Postman Delivers: Ikara Colt’s Chat and Business debut on CD, plus Brendan Croker’s Boat Trips in the Bay on vinyl.
Hang on. Vinyl? I bought it on CD.
Oh well. A few ebay emails later and the purchase price was refunded, along with no need to return the vinyl.
Five star feedback ahoy!
The Postman Also Delivered Baxter Dury’s biog. I’ve had a thing about Baxter since the Roundhouse gig last week. Actually, I’ve had a thing about Baxter for the past four years or so.
I didn’t realise that his owd man lived in the Oval Mansions squat at the back of the Peter May in SE11.
Sweeping statement alert: Baxter is coming close to having a back catalogue that is even stronger than that of his Dad.
The rest of Wednesday was routine. PMQ’s was shit; the Lidl coupon cheeky preview didn’t tempt me with cheapo middle aisle delights for the morning.
Christmas dinner was booked late in the afternoon. Well, the delivery slot, anyway. The end of October is far too early to be thinking about this.
I played around a little with play.ht. It’s the audio cousin of Chat GPT. It’s very clever. The voice options break out of the usual robotic sounds generated by machines.
I can’t find a use for it though. If I was a voice over artist then I might be a little worried.
The Forest podcasts ate into early evening. Forest Forever was very dark. There was even talking of dismissing Steve Cooper.
Steady the buffers, fellas.
The new midweek Garibaldi Reds Q&A’s was a little more measured. I’m not exactly your Centrist Voice of Reason. But when it comes to Forest, I can see that moderation and expectation management is needed.
Oh - the heating went on for the first time late in the evening. There’s no turning back now.
