Album of the Day: Hanoi Rocks - Back to Mystery City

I came close to bailing during the first track. The saxophone saved it. This is bar room brawl music. I’m not up for the fight. I wimped out at track two.

A day spent indoors, mainly working, but also catching up with various online admin tasks.

Essex Rebels published the fixtures for the two mens’ teams for the season ahead up at the Sports Arena. There’s some triple header action with the men and WBBL women playing back to back.

I referenced these dates with some of the Wiv Town Saturday afternoon action. But OF COURSE there are clashes aplenty.

If it comes down to it, I reckon we’d sacrifice the football for the basketball.

LOVE football, aye.

But the Rebels are offering something very special and unique just up the road.

I’ve seen from past experience how fragile and precious this offering can be. RIP London Knights and London Racers ice hockey; I do miss the London Towers basketball at Crystal Palace.

It’s all about the sport, innit.

Oh - and the Streatham ice hockey fixtures were also added to the diary. The first puck of the new season drops at the High Road this Saturday.

I caught another snap of Dotty yawning. This was also added to stockimo. I’m pimping out my cat girlfriend to pay for my CD buying habit.

I made a start on Kursaal Flyers documentary - another Word In Your Ear recommendation. It’s longer than I thought. My attention strayed. Not the most rock ‘n’ roll of 70’s bands.

A large part of the day was spent foolishly scrolling through Forest Twitter. It’s the day before Deadline Day. Forest remain a BONKERS club.

The daily eBay mails threw up a pair of G-Force shoes. I had a very similar pair bought in the Fair City almost 40 years ago. If you could lose the Rumplestiltskin buckles on this pair, then I’d be tempted.

Never trust a man who has buckles on his shoes.

Thursday evening was closed with some Miles Davis listening and more Vuelta catching up. It’s been a chaotic edition of the race so far, both in terms of action and the race organisation.

Bike racing is NUTS.
